Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a
life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the
couple drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet
search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will
lead them back into the light of day.

Each day includes drama, music, dance and a production craft taught by Virginia Rep's theatre professionals and educators. The Stage Explorer campers are divided into three groups by grade level (or age) for the majority of their activities, but come together in rehearsals for the showcase-style performance at 4:00 on the final Friday afternoon. Stage Explorers is a fun and engaging camp for both the novice and experienced young performer.

York City’s Washington Heights to life in his first groundbreaking work. With
spirited characters, pulsing choreography, and an award winning Latin-
hip-hop-infused score, In the Heights won 4 Tony Awards in 2008, including
Best Musical, and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2009.

The Little Engine that Could is a classic story of optimism and hard work that will delight young theatre-goers. Based on the 1906 sermon by Reverend Charles S. Wing, children will follow along with the little locomotive as he bravely puffs faster and faster “I think I can, I think I can”.

Young Performers Institute participants receive professional instruction and coaching in a wide variety of intensive acting classes as well as seminars on special topics. YPI takes place at the Virginia Rep Center in downtown Richmond, allowing greater access to the professional facilities.

at Virginia Rep’s Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn
These one week intensives are designed for the aspiring performer interested in sharpening all three of their musical theatre skills - acting, voice, and dance. Parents will be invited for a short demonstration on the last day of each week for a peek into what the participants have been practicing. Each week in the series is a self contained experience with different Master Instructors and new material. Sign up for one week, a couple weeks, or all four!

The ideal first theatre camp for your preschool aged child. Through creative drama the campers learn how to use their Performers Tools: bodies, voices, and imaginations to tell stories. Each morning includes story drama, music & movement and a craft. The campers will have the opportunity to share what they learned throughout the week with family and friends on the last day at 11:30.
